Discovery Montessori Academy  ECA

Caissa​ started running a Chess ECA program at Discovery Montessori Academy (DMA) in Discovery Bay since 2019. 

Our training focuses on bringing children, whom mostly haven't played chess in any tournament format before, comfortably to play in individual and team tournaments. All our students can join our once per month "End of Month" tournament which is a controlled competition in which players of equal strength play for medals and trophies and learn how to play with a chess clock and time their thinking. 
 

For Academic Year 2024-25 Term 2 we will conduct 14 classes on the following dates:

• Mar 7, 14, 21

• Apr 25

• May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30

• Jun 6, 13, 20

For Academic Year 2024-25 Term 1 we will conduct 13 classes on the following dates:
 

• Sep 6, 13, 20, 27

• Oct 4, 18, 25

• Nov 1, 8, 29

• Dec 13

• Jan 10, 17

Classes are given on Fridays from 2.45pm-3.30pm at the Caissa Hong Kong Chess Club in North Plaza, a 2 minutes walk from the school.

No refund, credit or make-up class will be provided if the student does not attend at the scheduled day and time. In case of enforced school closure by EDB or if classes are disrupted due to COVID-19 circumstances, these classes can be taken as make-up class during the full academic school year at school or at our Discovery Bay center at North Plaza.
