Caissa HK - Shenzhen U10 Match: 3-1

With yesterday's May 2017 EOM just freshly concluded, today we received a team in the U10 age category from Shenzhen. We played in one large group with 16 players from Caissa and 13 players from Shenzhen. Shenzhen players would not be paired against each other.

After 6 rounds the top 4 Caissa players and the top 4 Shenzhen players would be playing against each other in Teams A, numbers 5 through 8 would be playing against each other in Teams B and the numbers 9 through 12 would be playing in the Caissa and Shenzhen Teams C. But before getting into the finals of 4 teams against 4 teams we first had pizza - below a video impression of the day:

The finals then resulted in wins for Team A (Mahir, Oliver, Savin and Ahaan) and Team B (Alexei, Vihaan, Gabriel and Ethan).

Team C (Rico, Channing, Michelle and William) ended 4-4 in the finals but lost on tie-break which was adding up all the points the players had gained in the prelims. For the players of Caissa Team B that was 9 points and for the Shenzhen players of Team C that was 9.5 points! Very close.

It was a great day of fun chess and special thanks to our Shenzhen friends for coming over and we hope to see you again soon - in a Home or Away game!
