Caissa Girl Squad Visits TCA at their Girl/Woman Chess Tournament

Caissa Girls Squad Funny Faces ...

With 11 girls and one coach, WFM Astrid Barbier, 12 players in total, Caissa participated in the Woman-Girl tournament organised by TCA on 27 October. In the very early years of Caissa we did have Caissa girls teams playing against Caissa boys. Now, with coach Astrid on board we plan to reignite, reestablish and develop girl chess foundation for the long term.

The Saturday before the event we invited the Caissa student girls for an information morning and team building by working together on some chess related quizzes, play some chess and have some snacks. In the meanwhile, Caissa Founder David Garceran Nieuwenburg presented for some parents the rationale of creating a girl chess training environment.

The event on Sunday went smooth. All players enjoyed the event a lot. It was well organised by TCA for whihc many thanks. As Caissa we will definitely come up with further girl motivating activities, lessons and tournaments. Stay tuned.

And ... congrats to coach Astrid winning the 3rd Prize and first trophy in Hong Kong since coming here in early August.
