CIS Wins the Malvern College 3rd Dr. R. Lister Cup among 67 Schools

On 23 February 2025 close to 350 students from 67 schools came to Malvern College for the 3rd Dr. R. Lister Cup scholastic chess tournament.	2025年2月23日，來自67所學校, 近350名學生聚首一堂, 參加香港墨爾文國際學校第三屆「Dr. R. Lister Cup」學界國際象棋比賽。
The event was played over 6 rounds, with catering facilities open the whole day, and with comfortable waiting space for parents, accompanying persons and players in between rounds, the event was smoothly conducted.	當日進行了六輪對局，家長、隨行者及棋手於全日開放的餐飲區用膳。此外，大會亦提供舒適的等候區，供大家休息。整個比賽進行得十分順利。
After registration in the lobby the players went to the canteen for the technical welcome by Caissa's David. A movie was shown from GM Susan Polgar expressing her strong support for Caissa's efforts to make chess, also at this event, more attractive for girls.	棋手在大堂完成報到後，則前往餐飲區專心聆聽由 Caissa 創辦人 David 主持的賽前簡介。現場更播放了國際特級大師 Susan Polgar 的短視頻，她對 Caissa 致力於推廣國際象棋、尤其是提升女子參與度的努力表示大力支持。

The Playing Hall was on the 4th floor and the hall was divided into 4 age categories sections. Round 1 was pre-paired and lanyards were placed on the tables. Once the players were seated Ms Michelle Jardone, Deputy Head Malvern College Hong Kong, welcomed the audience and cheered the players on to a great day of chess.

比賽大廳設於四樓，並劃分為四個年齡組別區域。第一輪對局已預先編排好，枱面上亦放置了參賽者的名牌。當所有棋手就座後，香港墨爾文國際學校副校長 Michelle Jardone 便向在場人士致歡迎辭，並為棋手們打氣，祝願大家有一個精彩的比賽日。

At the Prize Giving over 50 trophies were handed out by Malvern College Head Master Paul Wickes: top 6 players and Best Girl trophies in each age category and Top 5 schools in each age category.

在頒獎典禮上，香港墨爾文國際學校校長 Paul Wickes 頒發了超過50座獎盃，包括各年齡組別的前六名棋手、最佳女棋手，以及各年齡組別表現最優秀的前五名學校。

Finally the winner of the overall, across 4 age categories, Main Prize, the Dr. R. Lister Cup, went convincingly to the Chinese International School. Well done players with and great support from parents!
